Azad P is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at MES Mampad College since June, 2023. Prior to joining MES Mampad College, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Economics at MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad from February, 2011, to June 1, 2023. He holds an MPhil degree in Economics from Pondicherry Central University and a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Kerala. Azad P is recognized as a PhD supervisor by the University of Calicut and is currently guiding students and pursuing their PhD under his supervision. His research interests lie in the field of Applied Microeconometrics, Labour Economics, Migration Studies, Happiness Studies, and Policy Evaluation Studies. He possesses extensive knowledge of applied micro-econometrics and is proficient in extracting data from national representative surveys such as NSSO's, IHDS, and World Values Surveys.

Furthermore, Azad P has published over ten research articles in highly reputed journals, including the Indian Economic Review (Journal of Delhi School of Economics), Economic and Political Weekly (EPW), The Journal of Quantitative Economics (Journal of the Indian Econometric Society), Indian Journal of Labour Economics, and Journal of Public Affairs.He has engaged in research collaborations with faculty members from the Department of Economics at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater, USA.

Azad P was invited as a delegateto the International Labour Conclave, organized by the Kerala State Planning Board and the Ministry of Labor, Government of Kerala.

Services provide to students and institutions

  • I have been providing various services and activities to the students, including mentoring, remedial classes, special classes for competitive exams like JRF/NET/SET, coaching programs for entrance examinations of premier institutions, organizing industrial visits, conducting orientation classes, and assisting weaker students with financial support. Additionally, I have taught classes on data analysis using software such as SPSS and STATA.
  • I have been actively involved in various college activities, including serving as a member of the research committee, coordinator of the placement cell, nodal officer for Bvoc courses, and member of the discipline committee. Additionally, I have organized numerous programs and events within the college.
